From the RC Headquarters - Wednesday @ 06:54PM - A classic September sunset has descended upon the Bay, the fog now having cleared out. The Marin Headlands glow in a purple blanket while the famous 'diamonds' sparkle on the East Bay. The diamonds were so named because of the effect of the setting sun's orange glow on the windows of the buildings on the East Bay. Tomorrow begins racing on Day 1 of the Rolex Big Boat Series at 11:00AM


From the RC Headquarters - Wednesday @ 06:35PM - Robbie Dean, Race Director at St. FYC provided skippers and tacticians a briefing on what to expect during the next four days, and laid out the courses that will be used. While the J/105's, J/120's, Express 37's, and the four IRC divisions will be swapping between the North Course and City Front course daily, the Farr 30's will be racing the entire regatta on the North Course and will race 3 races per day.


From the RC Headquarters - Wednesday @ 06:32PM - Many teams took advantage of today's wonderful weather conditions to get out and stretch their legs, refine crew work and tactics, and test sail plans. It was a good day to work through the changing tidal conditions that racers will face throughout the regatta.


From the RC Headquarters - Wednesday @ 06:26PM - What a spectacular afternoon today on San Francisco Bay. A balmy afternoon with breezes in the mid-teens made for the perfect conditions for many teams to come out and practice. Towards mid-afternoon the famous 'fingers of fog' began to percolate across the the Marin Headlands and over the Golden Gate Bridge, giving a little bit of umph to the breeze. A chamber of commerce brochure moment!
